Hospitals and institutions. In furthering our efforts to carry DDA's message we perform service work in detox centres, jails and prisons and in community care.

Criteria for making HI sevice.
 

• You must have at least one year of sobriety.

• You should have a DAA sponsor and be active working the twelwe steps.

• You should not have open cases with the police. If so, you can be denied entry because of Prison rules.

• Essentially men visits men and women visits women, when performing HI work.

• As a rule, service work is always performed with at least two people.

• In order to perform HI work or info in the name of DAA, it is required that you are a member of the HI Committee or received a mandate delegated by the Committee

• You should be able to follow continuously. It is of great intrinsic value in that inmates may meet the same people all the time.

• The only thing we have to share is the message of DAA, nothing else. We do not fulfill errands for anyone, ie, passing letters, lending money etc.

Guidelines for the HI group.

• As a President, for a period of maximum five years, you should have at least three years of sobriety.
   

• As a Secretary, for a period of maximum five years, you should have at least two years of sobriety.
   

• As a Vice President and Vice Secretary, you should have at least one year of sobriety.
